This year we welcome the Year of the Tiger on February 1st. Instead of a virtual New Years event this time, we thought we would open up the fun to children everywhere in the form of a creative colouring & drawing contest! Follow these simple steps for a chance to win one of our awesome bilingual English/Mandarin reading pens and accompanying set of books valued at $150 CAD!
Download our Lunar New Year printable below and choose either the Colour Us page or the Draw a Scene page.
Channel your creative energy and colour or draw your best Lunar New Year scene from the printable pages. Entries will only be accepted if they're coloured/drawn from our Lunar New Year printable.
Take a photo of your finished page and post it on Instagram and tag us @panda.mandarin or on Facebook and tag us @PandaMandarin123. Or, email us a photo of your submission to info@pandamandarin.ca. You do not need to include your child in the photo, but just mention their first name, age, and which city you're from.
On February 7th we will share all of the entries on our Instagram and Facebook pages and ask our audience to vote for two winners - one for the Colouring Sheet and one for the Drawing Sheet. Voting will close at 4:00 EST on February 8th. We'll announce the winner on February 8th at 5:00pm EST on Instagram and Facebook.
A child can submit multiple entries but only one bilingual reading pen prize will be awarded per family. Open to children aged 12 years old and under at the time of the contest.
Rules:
CONTEST (“CONTEST”) SPONSORED AND ADMINISTERED BY Panda Mandarin Language Programs Inc. (“SPONSOR”). CONTEST BEGINS ON January 28th AT 12:00pm EST AND ENDS ON February 7th AT 12:00pm EST. (“CONTEST PERIOD”).
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Entrants must submit a completed Colouring Sheet (page 2) or Drawing Sheet (page 3) from our free Lunar New Year printable. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and Administrator. Void where prohibited by law.
Contest is open to legal residents of Canada and the United States who have reached the age of majority in their respective province or territory of residence at the time of entry. Employees or contractors of the Sponsor(s) and immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with any such employees or contractors, are not eligible to enter.
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
Two winner(s) will be chosen at by popular vote using the total of Instagram and Facebook votes - one for the Colouring Sheet and one for the Drawing Sheet. The odds of winning will depend on the number of entries received. The winner will be sent an email or Facebook/Instagram direct message (depending on how the original submission was sent) and will have forty-eight hours to respond. If no response is received within forty-eight hours, another winner will be chosen. If a contestant wins with both the Colouring Sheet and the Drawing Sheet votes, the contestant is only eligible to win one prize. Therefore, a second winner will be selected based on the next most number of votes for the Colouring Sheet or Drawing Sheet entries. Administrators are not responsible for prize fulfillment nor for any technical failures. Winning entry will be verified. A list of winners will be displayed on social media in a subsequent announcement post.
Facebook and Instagram are in no way associated with this giveaway. If applicable, social media posts (such as but not limited to tweets and Instagram posts) must be PUBLIC to be eligible. A reply to the winning email/direct message is required within 48 hours before a new winner is chosen. The winner’s entries will be verified. Residents of Canada will be required to enter a skill-testing question to claim their prize.
Administrators and sponsors reserve the right to publish winner’s first name and last initial. Contact information for sponsor(s), if applicable, can be found in the contest text via website links. Retail value of prizes is listed in the contest text.
